Different style outlines in a document

I need the ability to have different style outlines in same document. I have
tried putting them in different sections but that does not help. For instance
I need a regular roman numeral outline in one place and a legal format
outline in another. How can I get Word to not apply the style changes to all
the outlines in a document?

You need to set up your numbering using different styles. The styles can
look the same but have different numbering schemes. Then apply the styles to
your headings.
