Please can you tell me the difference between these Calendars?

Outlook 2003 Calendar
Outlook 2007 Calendar
Windows Calendar pre loaded on a new laptop
Windows Live Calendar
Windows Live Calendar - Windows Internet Explorer
Calendar Windows Live Mail

Many Thanks
Andy

That's a long list of differences between them. Let's turn this around; what
are you trying to achieve and what are your expectations for a calendar
solution?
Also, what kind of account do you want to use it with?

Thank you for your reply Roady.

I am using Outlook 2003 Calendar & Sync to an old Pocket PC (for approx 3
years) I am looking into upgrading and didn't realise how many Calendar
choices there are.
1. I like the idea of syncing calendars away from the home PC
2. My wife has a new laptop and would like to start her own new calendar
3. We would like to be able to sync with each others calendars
4. I need a Calendar that will keep all information (not delete after an
amount of time)
5. Also the Ability to sync with windows moblie phones

Sorry for the long list but I don't want to move over to the wrong Calendars.

Thanks
Andy

I have noticed that the two windows live calendars have different functions
and a different look/style.
What is the newest version?

Is the Vista Calendar compatiable with outlook 2003/2007 and windows live
Calendars?

I understand that on a windows live calendar each person choice a colour for
their calendar.
Now when working with outlook calendar 2003/2007 the colours are for the
category.
What happens when the two overlay or sync?

Thanks
Andy

Do you already have a Windows Live ID? In that case, it might be best to
stick with that and use Outlook with the Outlook Connector to connect to you
Windows Live Hotmail account.

1) Covered; all data will remain available on the server
2) Create a Windows Live Hotmail Account for her too
3) If you mean share; then you are covered for that too. If you want to sync
them, then your wife having her own calendar wouldn't make much sense ;-)
4) If I'm not mistake, Windows Live Calendar doesn't delete any data from
previous appointments. If it does, you could still consider using the
AutoArchive function in Outlook to keep an offline version before they get
deleted from the server.
5) Perfect! These are designed to work with Live Accounts and/or to sync
with Outlook.

When you are using a Windows Live ID, it's also very easy to switch to
Windows Live Calendar for your desktop and to access via Live Calendar via
your browser. Forget about the default Windows Calendar in Windows Vista;
it's development has been discontinued anyway. This has been replaced by
Windows Live Calendar.

Thanks again Roady

My wife and I all ready have windows IDs and just downloaded Connector for
Outlook 2003 last week.

Outlook 2003 is installed on home computer only.

I read that some data will be deleted from an old calendar to a new calendar.
Is this to do will MSN calendar moving over to Windows live calendar?

I'm still not clear which way to go with all the calendars as I have up to
now used outlook 2003 calendar only for myself.

What happens to all my old calendar data?
I need to retain all my old data for searching purposes

I do use the colour category in outlook, so what will happen to them if I
use windows live calendars?

With Windows live calendars you only get one colour per person/calendar?

Can Windows live calendars sound alarms on the computer the same as Outlook?

How do I work with windows live calendar offline if I need to connect to the
internet to access it?

So the Calendar on Vista laptop is not as good as the others?

Do I need to continue using Outlook Calendar at all?

Thanks
Andy
