Hello,
I have an unusual dilema concerning operating systems. My company is in the
process of releasing a new product. The operating system chosen was Win
2000 server. It was chosen basically so we cun run the standard edition of
SQL.
The problem with server is I also have some hardware that I interact with on
the system. A certain driver for a framegrabber is not supported on server.
The company didn't see a problem though. However I hit the problem and it
appears the the driver will not run on 2000 server. This company will only
support the driver on 2000 workstation.
My main question what are the differences between the two operating system
that may cause a certain hardware driver to not work properly? Is there
anyway to make 2000 server behave like 2000 workstation, and still be able
to run the standard edition of SQL?
Thanks,
Mark
