Dear Friends: Is there a slightly difference between
Windows XP home english vs Windows XP Spanish other than
the language? I am latin so I would want a spanish
version but I have the impresion that the english version
would be somehow more stable since it was first created in
that language. I know it may sound silly, but that is the
perception latins have from traduced products. Thanks in
advance.

Greetings Michael Wayne,

No, I don't think there is any difference between the two operating system
versions. All the features will remain and intact with Windows XP (Spanish
Edition) except it would be Spanish.

Best of Luck!

The "language" that the OS uses would be the same with any version of XP.
For the localized region version, only the dialogues boxes, help text and
menus would be in the language selected.

AFAIK there is no difference in the actual code. What is different is
the language used in menus and dialogs, and maybe (I have no direct
knowledge) in naming structures in the registry. This sort of thing is
handled by using different included files of text structures when the
system is compiled, with the same source code files

Thanks. That was a doubt not only me had in my country.
Almost all technicians prefers the english version
thinking its better.

from My experience with translations of french to english and vice-versa,
Hope that the latin OS is not a translation of the English, but rather
written in spanish. (make sence? to you and I mabe) Because as you know when
ever a "translation" is made there is too much effort being made and the
meaning is sometimes lost or changed to suit the second tongue. (ever
hear a latin joke in english? not the same or as funny, right?)
But as others have mentioned the OS is still the same.
just what you read is different.
