Difference between times

In a query I am trying to find the difference between two times which show
HH:MM.SS and have the time show up as a number so it can be averaged.
Example of time: 00:06:40 and 00:05:02. Can someone tell me what
formula to use. I have tried many but cannot get it to average, I assume the
result must be a number but how can it be with the format in HH:mm:ss

Any suggestions

Try: DateDiff("s", #00:06:40#, #00:05:02#) 'returns seconds
