Tried it again and not what I needed, sorry.
Let me reword this, in cell a1 say I have the formula b1+c1 and the
answer is 3. I want to copy this cell a1 to d1 and still have it say
b1+c1 and same answer 3.
Hope I have this worded correctly.
Thanks Again
Brenda

Going by the underlying intent in your earlier post,
perhaps you didn't try what I suggested earlier ?: Try Cut > Paste
i.e. Cut out cell A1, paste into D1
(Don't Copy, use Cut)

I tried that again on my range of formulas and I got a REF! error?
The cut part worked, but not the paste.

Hallo Brenda,

you could click on A1, put a quote before the equal sign. Now:
Enter / Copy / Paste in D1
And remove the quote signs both in A1 and D1.

Brenda,
Pl post more details of the formulae you have in A1:B3,
and where exactly are you pasting these.

Use absolute addresses instead of relative?

=$B$1+$C$1

that way the cell references in the formula do not shift.
