Did something stupid

Wondering if anyone can help me. I wasn't watching what
I was doing and when setting up a system with two HDDs, I
quick formatted (NTFS) a drive that had some info I
wanted to keep. Is there any way to get it back. XP
doesn't have unformat.

Any help would be great.

Yes. But DON'T WRITE ANYTHING TO THAT DRIVE!!! It is
possible to restore (undelete) the partition using many
software packages out there. I personally like power
quest products but I am unsure if partition magic will
undelete partitions since it has been ages since I've
used it. If not, try www.partition-recovery.com

Just don't write anything to that hard drive and it will
probably be recoverable in it's entirety.

I haven't used it myself, but based on a recent post here I was just
looking at this site, which seems that it might be able to help:

There are some utilities that will bring back some of the stuff from a quick
format if you haven't already written over any of it. Check google, I did
that for a freind who did a quick format and we were able to recover his
data (word, excel etc.). However, did not try the whole drive restoration.
I found it on google, but can't remember the web site, but the file was PC
Inspector File Recovery.
