Dictionary program quit working :-(

I've been using the American Heritage Dictionary (v3.6) for the last 10 years
and I am totally dependant. :-) Yes it's true, I can't spell. I am not
sure what or how it happened but last week it just stopped loading. When I
try to start the dictionary I get the hourglass for a fraction of a second
then nothing! No splash screen, no error message, and no dictionary. Just
the desktop. :-( I have recently updated IE 7.0 beta 3 and installed MS
Flight Simulator and have since uninstalled them both.

Does anyone have any suggestions on settings I might change to get my
dictionary program running again. Yes, I know it old, but I haven't found
anything that works any better.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Yes I did, from the original floppies. lol I had the same issue as when
trying to run the dictionary program..... double clicked on setup, got a
hourglass for a fraction of a second, then the desktop. Very strange.

Bleep!

You might try running it with the compatibility wizard.

Also, you might try deleting the software using an uninstall program, if
available, or via Add or Remove Programs, and then reinstalling. Backup any
customized files first.

Sorry that I couldn't be of more help. Good luck.

So.... I've got "Program Compaitibility Wizard" going (looks like a Windows
IE program). The opening screens says "To continure, click Next." I see
three BLANK buttons at the botton right of the window. First two do noting,
the last one quits the program. :-( This sucks!
