a different file extension to prevent them from
being accessed by the Windows Restore feature.
Existing files are renamed upon first start, so
afterwards an old version of Dialog will not be
able to access the database files correctly.

I would like to especially thank the new translators and proof-readers for
their work on the additional translations. For this release they added
Spanish, Russian and Serbian (Latin and Cyrillic) to the languages available

It's beta 38 (no dot). Program is completely stable.

Different programmers use different approaches. One releases v1.0 as
quick as a build doesn't crash on his own computer. Other undergo a
thorough multistep beta-testing and release v1.0 not earlier than
the program is known to run flawlessly on most setups thinkable.
You'll find the latter kind of programs often with GNU or Linux
projects.

Markus always said, he will release v1.0 when all major bugs are
solved.

Does this mean that there is no v1.0 yet ??

No. There still is a list of open bugs. But *most* people will never
encounter one of them. The 40tude Dialog program has been stable on
most systems for months (at least more than a year). But of course it
is always a good idea for people who won't participate in the real
Beta testing process to wait a few days or weeks after a new release
comes out, in case something of the latest changes went wrong.

Ah. Yes, you're right. I often forget that Marcus numbered the first
public Beta 23 as 2.0.1.1, indicating that he had a different enough
development branch earlier. But, OTOH, many people reading of Beta 38
being 2.0.15.1 believe a v3.0 to follow after all these Betas, while
the posts of Marcus indicate, that he rather will mark one of the
following 2.0.x.x as final... ;-)
