dialing up to internet constantly

I have networked two computers one is xp pro and one xp home. all is fine
except that the secondary computer will always dial up to the internet when
they are connected. I have ticked the never dial up to internet box in
internet opyions settings but it doesn't change things. will need to stop
this until I have the broadband installed. any ideas?

Some program is probably configured to go straight to the dialup
connection. I had the same problem when I first switched from dialup to
broadband. My problem was with a filtering program I use called s4f
(Safe for Families aka Hedgebuilders). It needed to be reinstalled to
start using the broadband connection.
