Dialback Fails

Dan McKinney

I dial into an IBM 3235 Dials Server. The server forces
me to authenticate with user id & password, then calls
back my home number, assigns me an ip address, and then I
am on our network. Now that I've moved from Win98SE to
Window 2000 Professional at home the system will not allow
the Dials Server to connect to me at home. I get an error
message that the port is not connected. Any ideas
anybody ???

Is the modem answering the calls at all? What software is being used? Be
sure the modem is configured the same as it was in the Win98 configuration
be sure auto answer switch is set.

Thanks for the reply Jim. The Software being used is the
network connections dial-up connection in Windows 2000
Pro. The modem is configured the same as in Win 98, and in
fact is the same modem used in Win 98. I paid particular
attention to the dip switch for AA and it is set to on. My
phone rings, AA led flashes, but the modem won't answer
the phone.
