Dial up from another computer

Hey, I have a small network at home and I'd like to make it so that I can
dial up from a client computer with win 98 to the net using the dial up
connection on my win xp computer. I have heard that this is possible and
would like to know where to start putting this in place. The network is up
and running and the client computer can access the net if i have already
dialed up from the win xp computer but the win 98 computer can't dial up
through the win xp computer.

In order to allow this you need to set 'Always dial my default connection '
and ensure that you have an inactivity-timeout set. - However, using ICS
with dial-up is not all that satisfactory, as it tends to do a lot of false
dialling. This is because it cannot distinguish between a real
Internet-request and spurious DNS traffic.

A better way to share a dial-up connection is with a proxy, for example Jana
Server. The proxy responds to specific requests from a program set to use it,
so is far less prone to false-dialling.
