Dial-up Connection Problem

I just got a new laptop for college and having trouble not
getting bumped from my internet connection. I have
regular telephone/modem connection. I get this error
message "Windows must now restart because the Remote
Procedure Call (RPC) service terminated unexpectedly.
Shutdown was initiated by NT Authority/System"
