Ever since my cousin activated an account on MSN
Messenger, the dial-up dialogue box pops up automatically
when the computer is turned on or when any program is
opened. It has gotten so bad lately, that the screen
saver is being disrupted because the dial-up box will
just all of a sudden appear and nobody has touched the
computer. Spooky! In a related question, how do you
delete MSN Messenger? I can't find a way to remove the
program or put the computer back the way it was before my
cousin did her thing. Help. Thanks.

Hi,

Go to MSN Messenger and in the options uncheck these options.

Automatically run Messenger when i log onto windows.
allow automatic sign in when connected to the internet.

Mike,

Some program (possibly MSN) is requesting access to the internet. You may turn off the Remote Access Auto Connection manager service via Services.msc applet. You can still connect to the ISP manually.
