Why don't diacritics work in my emails? Diacritics work in microsoft word,
but not in Access. Why? Do I need to fix a setting? What am I doing wrong?

I don't know about your e-mail program as this is Access. However
consider that no mater what program you are using, it needs to be using a
font that has those characters available and they must be mapped the same in
order to show properly. A second part is how you are trying to insert them.
Using a copy and past may work in some applications that are trapping any
Alt key strokes or separating the alt from the following key strokes.

I find that Access will accept both the Alt key method and the copy
method. é < It worked from me in my display in Outlook Express just now as
well. However you may not see the same accented "e" as I do since you may
be viewing it in a different font.

What version of Office are you using? Other applications in Office 97
supported Unicode, but Access didn't support Unicode until A2K.

Which of course could mean my response was misleading. Sorry
Diocletian.
