i need to change our existing dhcp scope from a
10.10.x.x
to a 10.100.x.x

can any one provide to correct trouble free way of doing this
any pitfalls or probs one needs to be aware of?

thanks in advance

Assuming your starting this process at time T and the current lease time you
have configured for all the clients to be X hrs

Start
1. Change the configured lease time for the 10.10.x.x scope to about an
hour, say Y hrs
2. Wait until T + Xhrs
3. Create the new scope 10.100.x.x. and add/update all the related options
including lease time as X hrs
4. Let all your employees, etc know that your network may have problems for
the next Y hrs.
5. Disable the 10.10.x.x scope
6. Enable the 10.100.x.x scope
End

Thx, Ravi
