Hi All,

I have a windows 2000 DHCP server in a W2K domain, which
is serving addresses for 2 subnets. The vlans are
configured on a Cisco catalyst. The server is serving
addresses for its own subnet but not for the other subnet
(vlan). I am currently using a relay agent on the other
subnet. Can I configure this without using the relay
agent? If so, what configurations do I have to make?

Thanks,

joh

We have no such problem, 5 subnets and no relay agent. I think your problem
is in the vlan setup.

If you have vlans, you'll have to have a router to route between them.
Since DHCP cannot go over a router, you have to have a relay agent on one of
the vlans or seperate DHCP services on each vlan.
