DHCP Settings for Cisco Switches

Cisco switches can obtain a reserved DHCP address from a
DHCP server, however you can use the switch hardware mac
address in the reservation, it won't work. Is there some
vendor specific settings that need to be made on the DHCP
server to allow that mac and if so how do you do it?

Hi,

What happens when you use the switch's hardware mac address in the
reservation? This should work and you should be able to create the
reservation for the switch just like any other reservation.
