Im gettin an ip number like 169.254.x.x and no connection to internet. The
event logs says about a problem on DHCP service, but its started. Tried
stopping it and starting it again but nothing happens (same problem)
The last thing I did before getting this was uninstalling Norton INternet
security and installing Zone alarm.

Gonzalo,

Does the Services wizard show the DHCP Client service running? If so, and
you're getting a 169.254.x.x address:
1) Verify that the DHCP server (NAT router?) is NOT seeing a DHCP request from
the computer.
2) Verify that the computer hardware is operational.
3) With Zone Alarm, make sure that ZA is set to trust the DHCP server.

Then look at LSP / Winsock corruption. Be very persistent here.
