DHCP not working after installing file and print sharing

After I installed file and print sharing - my Windows XP Pro system will not obtain an ip address from my broadband router or from my MSN DSL modem. Any ideas what happened or what to do to fix the problem?
 
Adding file/print sharing should not have impacted your ability to get an IP
address.

Have you tried to reset the router? If so what were the results?

Additionally what are the settings of your PC?
