DHCP for 2 netwoks

Subbu

I have two networks
Network A and Network B seperated with router
I am planning to keep DHCP server in network A and
planning to keep DHCP relay agent in network B
I am planning to set two scopes Scope A and Scope B

How I have to configure the DHCP to
1) Network A clients should get IP only from scope A
2) Network B clients should get IP only from scope B

Hi Subbu

For those gurus out there, correct me if I'm wrong. Subbu here will need VLANs and one or more Layer 3 switches. Users in VLAN A at Switch A and users in VLAN B at switch B are not able to talk to each other unless there is VTP (Virtual Trunk Port). If u use a Layer 2 switch and configured 2 VLANs there, VLAN to VLAN will not also talk.

GURU - Great Understanding Relatively Useless?

Since no GURUs are answering, I'll add my $.02.

DHCP server in subnet A and DHCP Relay Agent in subnet B means a request is
passed through the router and a response returned through the router. A 2nd
DHCP server just responds, no routing. I don't understand the VLAN
requirement to this scenario.

These might be helpful: (The first one being the most important, IMHO.)
