DFS: on a multihomed file server

Jim

We plan to set up a multihomed file server and use DFS to serve
clients on 3 subnets. Will the following idea work?

1) Configure a link that has multiple targets as follows,
\\FS-Net1\software
\\FS-Net2\software
\\FS-Net3\software

where the software directory is on the file server, which has three
NICs for net1, net2 and net3.

2) A client on net2 should be able to access the file server through
it's local subnet, right?

I know it works on Unix machines...:)

Thanks in advance!
Jim

Few questions:

1. Does these subnets belongs to different Active Directory sites? (for
example: Subnet 1 site=Site1, Subnet 2 site=Site2, Subnet 3 site=Site3)
2. Does FS-Net1, FS-Net2 and FS-Net3 also resolve to correct sites? (in
context of example given above: FS-Net1 belongs to Site1, FS-Net2 belongs to
Site2, FS-Net3 belongs to Site3)

If yes, then client should first go the target in its own subnet site. If
you have any issues here, please let us know.
