Device Manager missing

I am running Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 for the past 7 months. I
noticed yesterday my 'Device Manager' is missing. I have gone to my computer,
control panel and its definitely not there. Can anyone help or do I have to
reload WinXP again? Thanks
Regards
Lisa

I don't think .. We have "Device Manger" in control Panel .. in Xp ..

You can run start "Device Manager" from

Start >> Run >> devmgmt.msc

R

R. McCarty

To verify Device Manager works, click Run (Type) DevMgmt.Msc [Enter]
If the console view opens, then it's likely the System applet in Control
Panel
has been "Masked" out. This can usually be done with Tweak-UI or other
customizing tool. Also, you may have toggled the Control Panel to category
view (instead of Classic) making the System Applet a little more difficult
to
locate.

Try Control Panel > System > Hardware tab > Device Manager

- or -

Start > Run: devmgmt.msc

P

Panic

If it's still there you can right click My Computer on your desktop, click
on Properties. Now click on the Hardware tab at the top. The page that
opens has a button to choose Device Manager.

Panic, thanks so much for your helpful info. Worked fantastic. Cheers:)

And for yet another way to do it ... if you press the "Windows" key and
the "Pause/Break" key simultaneously, the same "System Properties"
dialog opens (from which you get the Hardware tab and then the DM button).
