Develop for WindowsCE (2)

Ok, I done some test... :)

Now, via LAN I have installed the CF for arm4 (damn! this tell me that
it can be of a wrong type for the PXA250 processor but .net apps work,
the armv4t install itself without warnings but it doesn't work!)

First question: the right type of app for this type of terminal
(WinCe.net 4.2, display 640*240) is a PocketPC or WindowsCe app?

In all the cases VS.net give me an initial form of wrong size :(

Second question: I'm still unable to connect VS.net to the terminal,
also if this is connected to the lan and can be connected to the PC via
COM port.
Can I use ActiveSync? (it seems it is not present on the terminal)
Can I use the lan? (I have no idea on how to use the VS.net addon pack)

Thanks again!

:)

The PXA250 is an ARM core. Whether its ARMv4, v4I or v4T depends on how the
kernel was built, so ask the OEM.

The device is definitely a Windows CE device, not a PPC.

Studio starts WindowsCE projects with a 640x480 form, but there's no reason
you can't just resize it to your needs.

For connectivity, you need to download the Studio 2003 Add-on pack.

Ok.
I was sure there was some options to set for the size of the screen, number
of coms and memory on the device... I think this is something of the
emulator...

Thanks, bu I don't find any documentation about how to use it.
It seems to doesn't work to me.

Thanks again

It doesn't sound like you're using a Pocket PC. What type of device are you
using? (Manufacturer and model) Did the device come with a CD with
ActiveSync on it?

OK, then. As I said *contact the manufacturer*! We have really good
technical support.

I use this device every day and it *does* support ActiveSync (although we
don't ship it on CD; just download it from MS. I use version 3.6, myself),
if you want to use that, or you can use the Smart Device Authentication
Utility on the desktop (Tools menu of VS.NET 2003). After you've started
that on the desktop, run the sdauthutildevice.exe on the LANpoint. It will
tell you what the IP address of the unit is and you can write that down and
click Connect. Then, back on the desktop, enter the IP address you wrote
down and click Set Up Device. It will connect and you will be able to
quickly download and debug, etc. over Ethernet.

Thanks, it works :)
I just had to launch on the device Repllog.exe to connecting
w/ActiveSync or SDAuthUtilDevice.exe to connecting via TCP/IP.
