We have one system which fails when she tries to open certain PDF documents.
The system has had several versions of Acrobat Reader installed and we
suspect it may be using an old version. How can I determine (and change) the
version of Acrobat Reader used to open PDF files?

TIA

Wayne

Open Acrobat and go to Help\About and also when in there use the Check for Updates option

Recently I installed adobe reader 7.0 (thought I was updating) and found it
had left adobe reader 5.1 on my computer. I used add/remove programs and
deleted 5.1 but then could not open pdf. So I reinstalled 5.1 and now with
both installed on my computer pdf opens fine. Don't know if this will help
but thought I'd pass it along.

I meant to say I installed ADOBE reader 7.0 and uninstalled ACROBAT reader
5.1 and then could not open pdf until I installed ACROBAT reader 5.1 again.

Thanks for the information.

Uninstall 5.1 and then reinstall 7.0. Before installing 7.0, make sure
there are no files remaining in the the \Program Files\Adobe folder.

will deleting program files \ adobe folder eliminate existing pdf files on
the hard drive? thanks
