Determine Maximum Speed

Can anyone suggest a cd burning program (other than Nero) that contains a
feature to determine the maximum writing speed available taking the read
speed from the HDD into account.

For example, currently using Nero Express it is able to detect the read
speed of audio files (8x) I want to write to cd so that the burning speed
selected (Max) is not in excess of the read speed of the files.

I would currently like to move away from Nero Express because of the long
time it takes to add audio files the "files to be burned" and also the time
taken reading the files before the writing process begins.
