detect overlapping periods

I have a table with a number of time periods, defined by a beginnin date and
an ending date. On a form, I have another start date and end date. I need to
check if the period define don the form overlaps with any of the periods
defined in the table. How do I do that?
 
OK, thanks, I'll check there.

I posted several times because my first posting had not shown up after an
hour and I thought it did not go through. Must've been something with the
server.
 
not quite. 4:01pm and 4:18 pm in .modulesdaovba, and 4:39 pm for this last
one. if you come up against this situation again, at least post your
explanation for the additional post IN the additional post, and state what
newsgroup you posted in before.
