I have spent many MANY hours trying to fix what seems like it should easy
problem since I am sure it has been encountered by many in the past. However,
it is virtually impossible to get a helpful solution let alone figure out
where to even find a place to ask the question.
I have had 2 replies back from the help form I submitted, however, I can not
reply back to them to say that NONE of their solutions worked.

(please do not just tell me that this is not the "appropriate" place to post
this. Please give me a REAL link or real information. Sending me to the
microsoft newsgroups page gets me nowhere. i have no idea where to begin and
this is adding to my frustration and irratation.)

HERE IS THE PROBLEM:
when i reply to or make a new email message i get an tiny ! inside a
triangle at the bottom left of the page. It says "done but with errors on
page" or just “done†with the tiny !, when I try to reply to an e-mail.
When this happened a couple of weeks ago, i shut down my internet connection
and turned it back on again. THis solved the problem. However, this time and
for the last 24 hours or so, I can not fix it.
It will send but my text is missing from a sent message...I sent myself a
test e-mail and it came through but with no text.
when i sent a test msg to myself AND saved a copy all that came up in the
message area was: <html><div style='background-color:'></div></html>

Hello

Are the email program settings correct, specifically the
smtp server url and the send options (text, html) ok?

Perhaps reinstalling the email program would fix it,
eg for Outlook Express, reinstall IE

(1) what email application?
(2) what have you tried to fix it - even if it did not work - tell us.
(3) what is your normal computer maintenance like?

Nadine

How about telling us what email programme and version you are attempting to
use!

Hope this helps.

Thank you WRH,
How do I check : smtp server url and the send options (text, html)?
Also, how do I reinstall IE? And are there risks? Will I lose information by
uninstalling first? Where do I find IE to reinstall after I uninstall it?
Thanks again,
Nadine

Download, install and use Firefox.

If you double-click on the little yellow triangle with the ! in it, will
bring up a bigger box that allows you to view the actual error message.

Thank you Stanley!
I did get firefox, it works. Wierd thing is...
I can now use my hotmail through explorer again!
After doing all those steps, defraging, rebooting over and over...It
seemingly "fixed itself" over night.
SHEESH!
Thanks again for the firefox info, I am keeping that in my unused icons
folder (you NEVER know)
Sincerely,
nadine

THanks for the advice! I never realized that.
Wierd thing is...the problem seems to have " fixed itself". After I did all
those steps, defragged, rebooted etc with no luck....I left it alone
overnight and now it works ! ?

IFyou are using Outlook Express....

To confirm what SMTP server you are using, select menu Tools->Accounts ,
select the Mail tab, highlight your account and select Properties then
Servers tab. Verify that the SMTP server is correct (contact your ISP if
necessary)

To check if you are sending text or HTML, select menu Tools->Options Send
tab.

To reinstall IE, browse to microsoft, search for the latest version of IE,
download and install.

I believe there are options to retain your current mailbox but
you may lose all your current mail and address book contents
as well as browser favorites if you reload IE
