Desktop Theme - Icon Text

Noticed that WinXP set up desktop icon text to be transparent (or it seems
as if it did) when I first installed it. For instance, the "Recyle Bin"
text under the icon was white with a black outline in a transparent box
(i.e. there was not colored box in which the text was in). I somehow
changed that (I now have white text in a gray box) and would like to get it
back to text in a transparent box. Any help on this?

Hi Ski,

Try going to Control Panel, Display, and under themes, select one of the
Default themes and apply that. You can then modify that again if you
desire.

Ken, thanks. I switched to a different theme and the text when white in
transparent box - what I want. When I switched back it did NOT go to the
default white in transparent box, but returned to the white in a gray box -
the way it was. Is there a setting that controls this?

Hi..
right click desktop......'arrange icon by'......uncheck 'lock web items on desktop

hope this helps
