Out of the blue this problem arose...
I Right Click on a Shortcut and choose Properties. I then Click on the Find
Target Button on the lower left...and nothing.
This just started happening in the last two days.
I have scoured the Internet via Google and the Microsoft KB for a solution
but to no avail. I have found a few posts in Forums that detail the same
problem but with no solutions in response.
I have scanned with Norton Anti-Virus, AdAware SE, and AOL's Spyware
Protection.
No Viruses...No harmful Spyware/Malware.
The only major install in the last two days was Roxio's Easy Media Creator
7...but...about a month and a half ago I attempted to install SP2...well...it
made a Dog's Breakfast out of my Computer! After I recovered and
reinstalled/repaired back to SP1...I am still suffering weird problems out of
nowhere like this one.
Specs: Windows XP Pro on a Dell 8250 with a 2.66 GHz Intel Pentium 4. I have
plenty of Drive Space and 1 GB of RAM.
I am not a novice at Computers nor the Internet...and have become very good
at troubleshooting due to the School of Hard Knocks, Crashes, Error Messages,
Etc...but this one is baffling me so far. I suspect that something in the
Windows XP Pro OS has gone south on me.
Anybody have a clue what I can do to repair this problem?
Much thanks if you do...
