Desktop - issue with right click of mouse for Context menu

I use Windows XP Home edition with three users. The main user is me with
administration rights and my two daughters have limited administration rights.
On the desktop of one of my daughters, the right mouse click only brings up
the egg timer and a second click then freezes the computer and it has to be
closed down. This problem does not occur on my desktop or my other daughters
desktop.
To try and solve the issue I have deleted this user account and added it
again - problem still occurs. I have added another user account and the
problem still occurs.
Though this problem is not serious, it is irritating as I am unable to clean
up the desktop.
Any ideas and help will be very much appreciated
