Is there a way in XP to remove the shortcut arrows from the desktop
icons. I remember using a small program in Win 98 that allowed me to
remove them from the shortcut. Is this possible in XP? I have a
vast array of icons, but I have always been annoyed by the little
arrows. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!
Others have told you how to do this. I'll just add my caveat:
My recommendation is that you do *not* do this. The arrows serve
an important function--providing quick visual identification of a
shortcut. If you remove the arrows, you run the substantial risk
that sooner or later you will delete something you wanted to
keep, thinking that you were just deleting a shortcut to it.
