How do you customize shortcut icons on our desktop?
When I install a new program a shortcut appears. My wife
doesn't need it so she deletes it and then it disappears
from my desktop.
How do I keep this from happening?
HELP!
Thanks so much.

Move the program's shortcut to your user profile's desktop instead of All Users\Desktop.

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop
to
C:\Documents and Settings\your profile\Desktop

Ramesh in the previous message gave you a correct solution, however it sounds like
both of you use the same settings (account).

If both use the same account then you could make a folder on the desktop for each
person. Copy the appropriate ICONS (shortcuts) to each folder. And yes you can have
the same named ICONS (shortcuts) in both folders.

The person using the computer can open their named folder with the their ICONS.

No fair peeking at each others folders ...grin.
