Every icon on my desktop individually has a weird, fuzzy
white outline around it. Before it had a white box around
it, but after changing some settings, the box disappeared
and just turned into a white outline. How can I fix this?
Thanks!

If I understand you right, did this happen in response to turning on the
"Cleartype" subpixel font rendering extension? If so, try this...

1. Go to the System Properties dialog (either through the control panel
or by right-clicking on the My Computer icon and choosing
"Properties".

2. Click on the "Advanced" tab, then click the Settings button in the
"Performance" section of the dialog box.

3. Under the "Visual Effects" tab, choose the "Custom" radio button. You
will now be able to scroll through a list of check boxes for
individual visual effects settings. One of these settings is to "Use
drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop". Uncheck it, OK your way
out of the dialog boxes, and see if that's the change you wanted.
