Desktop font - How to resize?

The 'Display Properties' for the desktop (Appearance tab) allow options for
changing font/text size for message box & active/inactive windows but:

How does the user choose a different style &/or size of font for the desktop
(for example, the names of icons on the desktop? Frivolous question? Not
for aging eyesight.

Register edit? Tweak program? All suggestions appreciated.

At the same place (in Display Properties | Appearance) highlight "Icon"
item and change the font and size there.
