Desktop Alerts don't work with Rules

Is this a known problem? When a Rule moves a new incoming e-mail from Inbox
into another subfolder, the Desktop Alert is not displayed.

Surely Desktop Alerts should show for ALL incoming mail, not just those that
stay in the Inbox?

You'll need to configure the rule to display the alert as well.

Ok, thanks. Really shouldn't be that way though - now I have to edit 73
rules when just one small update from MS could resolve.

Actually it was sort of a user request to not show the envelope when a
message was moved. Mainly because of when messages were moved to the Deleted
Items or Junk E-Mail folder the mail icon still showed.

Not talking about the envelope, talking about Desktop Alerts -- the ones
that fade in and show the first few lines.
