I've just purchased a Microsoft Desktop 6000 and there's a few problems
using my KVM with XP.... don't know if it's the KVM or XP or the 6000. The
mouse won't work at all (works fine directly pluged into the machine) and on
the keyboard none of the "extra" keys work (email, calculator, etc.)
although all appear to be set correctly

Any suggestions?

Not familiar with the Desktop 6000. KVM (keyboard, video display and mouse)
switches are all known for this! They only provide the "bare" minium support
for the keyboard/mouse features. If it does not state directly in the KVM
specifications that it allows the "enhance" keyboard/mouse driver features, it
will not.
