Desk top image

My desk top image will not stay on the correct settings. I do not have any
other monitors connected to my computer--I use it ony for my usual e-mails,
letters, etc. Almost every time I turn on the computer, the image goes to 640
X 480 pixels with the low (8 bit) color quality. The #2 monitor setting is
not highlighted or listed as functional, but it appears larger when I go to
the settings tab for the desk top appearance. I then have to reset the #1
monitor for 1680 X 1050 pixels with 32 bit color. It keeps happening over
and over no matter what I do. Any suggestions? I have Windows XP
Professional 2002.

Hi mate. What type of monitor and video card are you using as 1680 X1050 is a
very unusal resolution.
Have you always had this issue, or have you recently updated drivers for the
Video card?
