desk top icons

For some unknown reason I lost all my icons on my desk
top. I can not get them back. I keep dragging them from
mu computer and use the create shortcut but it doesn't
show up. What am i doing wrong. I just went to XP and I
am not happy with it at all.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi armand,

Right-click the Desktop, then select Arrange Icons By
If there is no checkmark beside Show Desktop Icons, click on it to select.
You should now (hopefully!) see the icons that are on your Desktop.

you can also try this >>> If you look at the Start menu
in XP, you'll notice that all the items that were on the
desktop are now in the Start menu. It's easy to get those
icons back to your desktop. Here's how:
1. Right click on the toolbar in XP.
2. Select Properties.
3. Click on the Start tab.
4. Select Classic Start Menu.
5. Click OK.
After you click OK, you'll see that the icons are back on
the desktop. Click on the Start menu, and you'll see that
the Start menu looks like the one that was in Windows 98
and 2000.
