I am looking for a small, neat desktop calendar. I don't want any facilities
to add information, just a simple month's display and with today
highlighted. I don't want it taking over the desktop, but available at all
times, but not on top.

Anything there?

Rainlendar is a customizable calendar that displays the current month. It is
a very lightweight application that doesn't use much system resources or
take much space on your desktop.

As I suggested the other day, TClockEx meets all your criteria. Its
main purpose is to replace the clock in the system tray with text or
data of your choosing, so if you just choose time you will see no change
on your desktop. But click on the clock and up pops this month's
calendar with today highlighted. Esc removes it.

Nice find! I hadn't seen this one before. I'll probably stick with
Rainlender, http://vapaa.dc.inet.fi/~rainy/ but this is very good in
terms of configurability and function for someone who wants a basic
desktop calendar with simple reminders that doesn't get in the way.

Here's another: I run two PCs with one monitor using a KVM switch. I
use TClockEx to remind me which I'm working on by putting the computer
name in the system tray.
