Designing a Form With File-Folder Tabs

Hi everyone,

I have inherited a database which uses a form. This form has 3 distinct
file-folder-looking "tabs", such that when each of the tabs is clicked, that
part of the form comes to the front and receives the focus.

Each part of the form uses the same table to hold the data entered through
the form. When I go into design view, there is a "page" property, and each
tab is represented by a distinct page number and caption.

What I haven't been able to figure out is how the original designer created
this form. I've looked in Help under pages, form tabs, form page numbers,
etc. and I'm getting nowhere fast.

Can someone please explain how a form like I'm describing is created?

It sounds to me as though the form is using a tab control. This has
been a standard control in the forms toolbox since Access 97 (and maybe
95, I'm not sure). See if you can find "tab control" in the online
help.

Hi Dirk,

Yes, it seems that it was created using the tab control in the forms
toolbox.

Using Office XP's Help, I searched for that terminology and found nothing.
However, I still have Access 97 on my PC, and A97's Help gives a decent
explanation of tab control and how to use it.

Thanks.

The Access 2002 help is awful, isn't it? I'm glad you have the A97 help
available. I use it, too.
