Deploy Outlook 2003 Group Policy

I am trying to deploy Microsoft Outlook 2003 using Group Policy. The
workstations were originally loaded with Microsoft Office 2000 with Outlook
2000. I recently upgraded from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003. Using the
standalone Outlook 2003
version that comes with Exchange 2003 I want to upgrade all workstations to
Outlook 2003. I have created the install point using a UNC patch, created the
software package in group policy and assigned to a few test computers.

I have been unsuccessful in deploying the Outlook 2003 on the test
computers. I know this is not much information, but my question should this
upgrade from the Office 2000 version of Outlook work using the standalone
Outlook 2003 version.

I am quiet sure I am creating the deployment process correctly. I have read
several KB articles.

Thanks,
Jeff

Yes, I'd think so, but note that features such as mail merge, Word as email
editor, and using send to email recipient from within any other Office apps
won't work if the versions don't match. I personally avoid using different
versions of Outlook and Office....users tend to get cranky when they lose
the interoperability features, in my experience.

Have you tried posting in m.p.win2000.group_policy? Post any errors you're
getting.
