Everytime I can't use the window search for my documents, music and pictures
or even my file and folder, when click on the search buttons an error message
say the DEP will close the program and ask for sending report to Microsoft.
My machine is AMD 64 Bit Proccessor. OS is running XP Home SP2. How can solve
the problem, or I have to wait for SP3? Please help!

Any advise is my attempt to contribute more than I have received but I can only assure you that it works on my PC. GOOD LUCK.

Hi there

Not sure if this will help at all but generally, in my experience, when
something like that happens it's gerally a software conflict of some sort.
Have you tried sending the report to Microsoft? Sometimes when you do that
suggestions are made to stop it from happening again. In my case it told me
to download some software, and it worked well for that particular glitch.
Failing that you could try running Windows in Safe-Mode and attempting the
command again, to see if it actually is a conflict of some sort. Not much
help but better than the last guy I'm sure...

Hi there

I did tried several times, sending the report within these few months don't
get any help, thanks anyway!

You can turn DEP off if you like;
Step 1 Disable DEP completely if using windows XP SP2

To do this, open My Computer, C:
Tools Folder Options View Tick Show Hidden Files and folders, and
untick "Hide Extensions for known file types" and "Hide protected
operating system files"

Now on c: you should see boot.ini

Open it up in notepad. The last line should end in /fastdetect
/noexecute=optin

Change it so it now ends /fastdetect /execute

File Save Exit. (spaces in front of "/")
