Demoting NT 4 BDC

I'm researching upgrade scenarios from NT 4 to Active directory and came
across a utility called UPromote that says it can demote an NT BDC to a
member server. Is anyone familar one?

Yes. It works - most folks I know have had good sucess with it. The catch is
that MS PSS will say sorry tough luck if you call and mention you used it in
the scope of hte problem.

Thanks Brian. Since it is for NT 4, I don't know how much help PSS will give
anyway.

I've used it. it works fine, but I had to clear up a load of
permissions after using it. It does the job and saves a lot of work,
but don't expect the result to be squeaky clean.

Cheers,

Cliff

I've used it and it works fine. It's not particularly tidy - I had to
clean up a mess of permissions afterwards - but it does do the job.

Cheers,

Cliff
