demote pdc

I believe there is a command to make the member a controller. As far as I
remember there is no pdc bdc in 2000. that is in nt. In 2000 servers have
roles. Some are domain and some are forest wide. I am hopping this info is
correct, so better read on it. search using google or go to
www.microsoft.com and then click on knowledge base on the top. Good luck.
 
The information you provided is absolutely correct. Dcpromo is used to
make a member server a domain controller (promotion) and also to make a
domain controller a member server (demotion) and the article you listed (kb
238369) covers both. After you install, you may wish to ensure it is

In Windows 2000 there is no PDC\BDC model. All DCs have writeable copies
of the AD database and are considered peers. The major difference between
the DCs is basically whether or not they maintain one of the FSMO roles
(flexible single master operations) which are held and updated by one DC
only.
