currently, i am locked out of most application. the
error message that comes up: the delphi data compilar has
expired. what is this delphi thing. can you help

Delphi is a development langage. I'm not up on Borland's current marketing
techniques, but it's pretty doubtful that a trial version installed all by
itself.

OK...I was overcome earlier by an almost-terminal case of leftoveritis,
caused by an overdose of turkey sandwiches, which presents as an inability
to see past one's cheeks. I'm better now.
