Dell 1706 Error

After installing the latest version of the software, I
receive a Error 1706 on my Dell Dimension 8200 every time
I open the program or try to commence a scan. It prompts
me to install an old Dell file. Help!!
 
This sounds like a job for the Microsoft Installer Cleanup tool:

Install this, run it, and find the relevant Dell product which is
incompletely installed (or removed) on your system. Use the tool to remove
the installer traces of that product, and then you should be able to use
Microsoft Antispyware.

I would be inclined to uninstall the tool once this is corrected--it isn't
needed for normal operation, and you don't need the clutter.
