Delivery Service Manager stops working and DNS problems

V

Vincenzo

Hi,

I've got two problems that I hope people can help me with:

1) whenever I start up my laptop, running Vista Home Premium, I now get an
error message telling me that the Deliver Service Manager has stopped working
and has been closed. it doesn't seem to affect my machine too much but how
can I fix this?

2) Also, every so often my internet explorer windows refuses to connect to
websites. Usually it blames DNS problems but the connection is fine, I've got
all the setting to automatically look for IP, proxy server and dns settings.
Also my peer to peer file sharing program works fine during this. I usually
have to restart the machine and everything then works fine.

Hope someone can help me with these!

Thanks,

Vincenzo

I have the same message appearing as described in your problem number 1. I
have only noticed this since installing SP1 on Vista Home Premium. Is this a
coincidence?

I have solved the problem by un-installing the BBC i Player

The problem is caused by a p2p programme (probably Kontiki) which is used by
sky player/bbc I player and others.

You need to disable it in start up,which should solve your problem and still
allow you to use the player. Alternatively you can reinstall the programme
but chances are that the problem will return.

When I had this, the Vista "Solution Finder" (or whatever it is called)
actually found a solution that worked. It pointed me at an update for
Kontiki, that once installed made the problem go away. Sorry, I can't
remember where it pointed me, but if you can get your "Solution Finder" (you
know what I mean?) to point you to the same place, you might be away.
