Deleting workgroup name

In trying to trouble shoot networking problems I created
a workgroup name that I am no longer using. When I open
Windows Explorer and view network places the no longer
wanted workgroup name shows up. How do I delete the no
longer wanted workgroup? Also, if I delete an icon on
computer one that has a folder showing on computer 2, if
I delete the folder from within Windows Explorer, I am
deleting the link and not the folder on computer #2,
right?
Thank you.

There's no explicit way to delete an unused workgroup. It will
automatically go away in time.

The items under My Network Places in Windows Explorer are links
(shortcuts), not the real items.
Thank you.

You're welcome.
