deleting webpage files icon

When i save a webpage to desktop it saves the files and the actual page. ( i
have windows xp).

if i delete the webpage files folder (which i never use and would actually
like to stop them saving as well) the web page deletes itself as well.

can i set it up so that either the webpage files are not saved to desktop
when i save the webpage. Or when i delete the files icon the webpage icon
is not deleted as well?

Open Folder Options applet in Control Panel. In the View tab, enable the
following radio button:

"Show both parts and manage them individually"
